Exploring the World: Ideal Destinations for Women and the Best Times to Go

A 12-Month Calendar of Ideas

When I set foot in Europe at 16 on a school trip, my love for travel and history was ignited. That three-week adventure across the continent opened my eyes to the wonders of the world, and I knew I was destined to explore its vast landscapes and cultures.

Throughout my career, I was fortunate enough to travel extensively, helping to build a global network while seizing every opportunity to visit new destinations during my downtime. In my post-career life, I’ve focused on art and photography trips, capturing the beauty of each place I visit. Despite my years of international travel, there are still many places on my bucket list, including Antarctica, Iceland, all the Nordic countries, and Africa for a photo safari. I dream of visiting Ecuador for the hummingbird migration and embarking on historical tours centered around Mary Magdalene.

I’m particularly eager to take women on trips to explore European museums, inspired by my favorite book, 1000 Places to See Before You Die. This book is a constant reminder of the endless possibilities that await us.

What’s on your travel bucket list?

Traveling offers a chance for exploration, adventure, and self-discovery, especially for women seeking new experiences. Each month brings unique opportunities to explore different parts of the world. Here’s a guide to some of the best places to visit each month, ensuring a safe and enriching journey.

You may wonder why I’m writing about this in the hottest month of the year, but many tours are booked months, even years, in advance. I am researching 2026 photography travel because so many tours are booked.
