Ham-And-Bean Soup
A leftover ham bone is the basis of this easy and delicious soup. I make a large quantity.

Ingredients
- 2 pkgs beef broth I love beef bone broth
- 1 pkg 15-bean soup Rinse the beans and leave them in water overnight to rehydrate them.
- 3 cloves garlic chopped (about 1 Tbsp)
- 2 pkgs Pictsweet frozen seasoning packets OR 3 celery stalks, cut into 1/2-in. pieces(about 1/2 cup)
- 1 Small Yellow onion Cut into 1/2-in.pieces (about 1 cup) or 1 package frozen onion
- 1 pkg Frozen carrots or 4 large carrots, chopped
- 1 bone Meaty ham bone (about 4 lbs.)
- 2 cans 15-ounce cans of fire-roasted dice tomatoes
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp ground chili powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
- 1.5 tsp kosher salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Add stock and beans to the pot. Stir all the ingredients.
- Add the ham bone
- Cook on high and reduce to a simmer for 1 hour or until beans are cooked through
- Cool the mixture. Remove the meat from the hambone. Discard fat, gristle, and bone. Chop meat and stir it back into the pot.
